THE ROLE
STRIVE is currently partnering with a global leader in the steel industry to find a skilled Industrial Electrician for their Guelph facility. This is a 3-month contract with the potential for extension, ideal for individuals looking to make an impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The position is on the afternoon shift (3 pm – 11 pm), with initial training on the day shift. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform electrical maintenance including troubleshooting and repairs on drives, controls and machinery
- Assist Key Electrical technician in new electrical/PLC installations, integration, improvements modifications and start-ups for the production line and facility
- Key contributor to the preventive maintenance plan as it relates to electrical topics
- Provides immediate support for emergency breakdowns
- Perform other maintenance duties as required for plant operation including basic mechanical repair
- Provide written details of work performed on Work Order forms and other documents
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of Industrial Electrician expeirence
- 442A Industrial Electrician License required
- 1 + years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the automotive industry
- Able to work in a collaborative environment
- Proven troubleshooting/technical abilities, excellent communication skills (both written and oral), and a strong “Get it done” proactive mindset
- Experience in Siemens PLC S7 300/400 is a direct asset
