The Role 

We are working with an exciting food manufacturing company based in Richmond and they are looking for TWO Maintenance Technicians to add to their team.

The main duties of the Maintenance Technicians include installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and preventative maintenance on food processing equipment. The open positions are morning and afternoon shifts with the following working hours:

Morning: 6 AM - 2:30 PM

Afternoon: 3 PM - 11:30 PM

Please note weekend work and on-call work are required.

Responsibilities 

  • Review blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to ascertain operational procedures.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to install, troubleshoot, realign, and disassemble industrial machinery and equipment such as fans, ovens, pumps, and conveyors.
  • Employ hoisting and lifting equipment such as chain blocks, jacks, and forklifts to accurately position machinery and components during installation, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and address irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Install, diagnose issues with, and sustain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, along with programmable logic controls.
  • Fine-tune machinery and replace faulty components as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and other necessary upkeep on machinery.

Requirements   

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility with mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • A Red Seal ticket is an asset.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial machines and general repairs e.g., chillers, freezers, ovens, fans, conveyors, etc.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines).
  • Understanding and experience with GMP, safety, and procedures.
  • Some welding experience is required.
  • PLC experience is considered an asset
  • Flexible to work holidays, weekends, and on-call when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can work well with a team!

 

Compensation 

  • $35-$45 per hour ranges based on experience and tickets (Red Seal Electrician or Red Seal Millwright)
