THE ROLE
STRIVE Recruitment has partnered with one of Vancouver’s largest Real Estate Investment Firms as they look to hire a Payroll Administrator on a 3-month temporary contract. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Administrator to join the client’s dynamic and growing team in the Vancouver area. The Payroll Administrator role offers an exciting opportunity to handle end-to-end payroll processing across multiple locations, including British Columbia, Ontario, and several US states (New York, Florida, Texas, Illinois, and Arizona).
The client is looking for someone with Canadian and US payroll experience however, the majority of employees are in Canada so, as long as you have some exposure to US payroll. If you have a passion for accuracy, compliance, and a seamless payroll process, this is an excellent role to develop your expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Payroll Processing: Handle semi-monthly payroll data entry, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for Canadian and US payrolls.
- Compliance: Ensure all payroll processes comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including tax filings and year-end payroll processing.
- Payroll Records: Maintain accurate payroll records and handle payroll-related projects.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll filings, including tax filings, EI state filings, Workers’ Compensation, WorkSafe BC, and Ontario EHT.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or errors promptly.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with HR and other departments to ensure deadlines are met and employee pay information is processed correctly.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing; cross-border payroll experience is an asset.
- Proficiency with payroll software (Ceridian Dayforce preferred).
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance across Canada and the US.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- CPP designation or APA certification is an asset.
