The Role
Our client is a specialized logistics/transportation service provider that focuses on value creation for companies with complex supply chains. They provide best-in-class transportation in Canada, the USA and worldwide by truck, rail, ocean and air. They were designed from the ground up to address persistent issues in the supply chain and provide nimble, consistent and reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities to meet or exceed sales targets, expanding the organization’s customer base across key markets.
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategic sales plans aligned with company goals and objectives, ensuring a clear path to business growth.
- Conduct thorough market research to assess potential clients, understand their unique needs, and provide tailored solutions that align with the organization’s services.
- Establish, nurture, and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and business partners, ensuring trust and ongoing collaboration.
- Prepare detailed, customized proposals, quotes, and contracts that clearly communicate the organization’s value proposition, maximizing the potential for closing deals.
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations and customer support, to ensure seamless service delivery and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, actively networking to generate leads and strengthen the company’s presence in the market.
- Regularly report on sales performance, activities, and pipeline to senior management, offering insights on trends and potential opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in transportation, logistics, or a closely related field, with a strong understanding of industry dynamics.
- At least 1 year of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the logistics industry, demonstrating success in driving business growth.
- Deep knowledge of logistics, transportation, and supply chain management, enabling you to offer insightful solutions to client needs.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and build strong relationships.
- Proven track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets, with a focus on expanding market reach and developing new client relationships.
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficient in using CRM software to track sales activities, manage client information, and optimize sales strategies.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel for client meetings, industry events, and other business-related activities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
- Must pass a criminal background check to ensure eligibility for the role.
