THE ROLE
STRIVE is currently collaborating on an exciting Human Resource Business Partner position with a reputable company committed to promoting sustainable transportation solutions. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise in HR systems, ready to advance their career by enhancing processes and driving improvements as our organization evolves. This position demands a blend of strategic thinking and practical execution while overseeing daily operational tasks within a lean team, positioning you as a key partner in driving the organization’s growth and innovation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resources
- Collaborate with people leaders and management at the Vancouver site (Corporate HQ) and within the international client group to understand business goals and translate them into actionable HR strategies.
- Lead the implementation of HR programs, services, processes, and procedures to align with the evolving needs of the business during times of change and transformation.
- Work alongside international HR partners to develop and deliver global HR initiatives, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across regions.
Compensation
- Oversee participation in compensation surveys for North America, including data summarization and submission reviews for relevance.
- Manage compensation reviews, including promotions, bonus structures, and annual merit increases, ensuring equity and alignment with market trends.
- Assist in preparing and distributing employee compensation communications.
Talent Acquisition
- Partner with hiring managers to understand team requirements and develop targeted recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews, offer negotiations, and onboarding logistics.
- Stay informed about market trends to maintain a competitive edge in talent acquisition.
Employee Relations & Development
- Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations issues, collaborating with both managers and employees to resolve concerns promptly and effectively.
- Support leadership in executing performance management cycles, merit reviews, and employee recognition programs.
- Advise managers on handling performance issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Provide guidance on optimizing team structure and identifying opportunities for talent development.
- Oversee contract changes, transfers, and department reorganizations, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with business goals.
Reporting & Compliance
- Track and analyze workforce data and metrics, generating insights and reports to support data-driven HR decisions, including those for ESG programs.
- Ensure compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) and ISO standards through diligent HR process management.
- Lead or support special HR projects as needed.
- Assist in implementing efficient tools and technology to enhance the Human Resources function and provide exceptional customer service.
- Undertake other HR projects as required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of progressive generalist or advisory experience in HR, preferably within a STEM-focused organization.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Hands-on experience in compensation, equity analysis, and salary benchmarking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in HR strategy and conflict resolution.
- Business acumen to align HR strategies with organizational objectives and drive impactful outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of delivering clear messages to all organizational levels and influencing decisions.
- Collaborative team player with demonstrated professional maturity and judgment to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and high ethical standards.
- Ability to effectively navigate a complex, high-change environment while acting as a positive steward for the business.
- Proficiency in Excel (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables) and HR data analysis.
- CPHR designation or progress toward it is preferred.
