THE ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment is working with a versatile legal firm which focuses in areas such as commercial litigation, family law, insurance and more. Our client is a Canadian based firm and they are looking for a Family law Paralegal for their location in Vancouver.

We are looking for someone who is able to work well by themselves and able to support and help the team when necessary. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and opposing counsel for the collection, review, and production of documents
  • Draft routine correspondence
  • Review documents and code them for relevance and privilege
  • Prepare pleadings, including:
  • Form F8 Financial Statements
  • Affidavits
  • Notices of Application
  • Lists of Documents
  • Review and prepare transcript summaries
  • Assist lawyers with all aspects of trial preparation

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of litigation experience specializing in family law
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) and/or paralegal program, or equivalent practical experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BC Supreme Court Rules, court practices and procedures, and filing deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Family Law Act
  • Extensive experience with MS Office and DivorceMate
