THE ROLE
We are partnering with a reputable Canadian law firm that has years of experience in the legal industry in Vancouver. Currently, we are looking to add an additional member to their legal administration team as they have a need for a Legal Assistant in Vancouver.

We are currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join their team. The position provides an opportunity to work with a vibrant and team- oriented group of people. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working in a Canadian law firm, be energetic, flexible, highly motivated and driven to succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide coverage for employee absences and support during busy periods.
- Oversee file management from initiation to closure, including organizing and filing all correspondence.
- Manage the inbox efficiently, tracking and filing email correspondence.
- Maintain the lawyer’s calendar and a reliable bring forward (BF) system, independently scheduling dates related to client files and practice management.
- Prepare and draft various legal documents, including pleadings and correspondence.
- Compile monthly accounts and expense reports.
- Coordinate the lawyer’s administrative tasks and marketing activities.
- Consult with internal and external legal professionals and clients about file progress.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with recent experience in commercial litigation.
- Graduate of an accredited Legal Assistant program, or equivalent experience in lieu of formal education.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal procedures.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and BC Online. Experience with Acumin and Worldox is a plus.
- Excellent written communication skills, with a strong command of spelling, grammar, and composition.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a high volume of tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Capable of exercising sound professional judgment, discretion, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to balance a heavy workload and manage routine tasks with minimal supervision.
