The Role:
At STRIVE, we are partnered with an exciting local leader with over a hundred years of operation in the food production space. They are currently seeking Maintenance Technician to join there maintenance team in their Burnaby facility.
The Maintenance Technician will directly report to the Maintenance Manager and be involved with all aspects of general plant maintenance of production systems/equipment. This is a Tuesday to Saturday position with a start time ranging from 8 AM- 10 AM.

Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of tasks to install and maintain facility equipment.
- Diagnose and repair production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
- Read equipment manuals and work orders to carry out necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Carry out and document regular preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Use hand and power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment as needed.
- Follow safety guidelines and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Assist with building maintenance for new construction, renovations, or updates to current systems.
- Keep track of supplies and equipment inventory to ensure availability.
- Attend meetings as needed.
- Complete and maintain necessary reports and records.
Must Have’s:
- 4+ years of experience working in maintenance position within a manufacturing company
- Millwright Red Seal Certified, Power Engineer Certificate, 5th, 4th or 3rd Class is considered an asset
- Experience troubleshooting industrial machines and general repairs e.g., packaging machinery, conveyors, etc.
- Strong mechanical aptitude: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines
- Understanding and experience with GMP, safety, and procedures
- Some welding experience is required
- Basic electrical experience
- Possess a valid BC driver’s license
- Comfortable with working both indoors and outdoors
Compensation:
- $41-$47 per hour (depending on experience and tickets)
