STRIVE has partnered with an esteemed client in the construction industry. They are a locally owned contracting company that prioritizes quality and safety. They have been operating since 1987 and are an industry-leading wall and ceiling contractor specializing in several different scopes of work. We are looking for a Payroll Specialist who is adaptable and focused for their Burnaby location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for full cycle payroll for 60-80 employees – 15 salary remainder are hourly
- Responsible for Subcontractor payroll – paid 2x per month same cycle as the employees – 40-50 invoices
- Raicor does full cycle payroll in our accounting system Spectrum for three companies
- Workers are hourly with different premiums and overtime calculations are often different per project
- Employees and Subcontractors are paid either hourly or piece work – this position utilizes Foreman project timesheets which captures hours or piece work to match to invoices to ensure accuracy of payments
- Responsible to tracks and pay foreman bonuses on 8-10 projects which is a combination of safety and financial targets on a timely basis
- Responsible to setup new employees and subcontractors in accounting system and ensure proper deductions and direct deposit information
- Responsible to generate upload payment file to the bank
- Responsible to calculate and pay source deductions remittances for three companies
- Responsible to calculate and pay Worksafe premiums for three companies
- Responsible to calculate and pay Union dues, including ensuing that employee deductions are accurate and establishing positive relationship with union
- Ensuring market recovery sheets are completed accurately and submitted to the union for payment on a timely basis
- Responsible to issue ROE’s, and properly calculate and track garnishees as needed
- Managing benefit plan for company
- Issuing AR invoices to customers once per month
- Ability to reconcile general ledger accounts related to position
REQUIREMENTS
· 2+ years of experience in a payroll position
· PCP certificate or working towards it
· Experience with union full cycle payroll preferred but not required
· Attention to detail and accuracy
· Must be able to work independently
· Above average communication skills – both written and verbal
· Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task
· Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft excel is required
· Excellent attention to detail with keep analytical skills
· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
