The Delta branch is currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator, offering $23 to $26 an hour (plus a discretionary annual bonus) with the opportunity for negotiation for the right candidate.
The Role
The main duties of the Logistics Coordinator include working in the office as well as outdoors coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments and dispatching drivers’ routes, as well as supporting loading materials, and providing updates on the status of client shipments.
This position covers shift times fully on-site from 6:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Organize and schedule deliveries for orders
- Prepare and check shipping documents against production records
- Keep detailed records of all shipments
- Give clear instructions and guidance to drivers. Monitoring driver status and keeping close communication with them
- Maintain professional communication with clients, vendors, and carriers via email, phone calls, and in-person
- Inspect shipments for correctness and damage. Verify the accuracy and condition of loads before drivers depart
- Deliver excellent customer service by handling inquiries and issues promptly and professionally
- Work with the team to solve logistics problems and enhance efficiency
- Assist and support team members as needed
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a Dispatcher or Logistics Coordination role
- Route familiarity and understanding of BC road regulations
- Strong computing skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Excel
- Thorough in keeping data entries updated
- Extraordinary written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable and coachable, with commanding organizational skills to be able to meet deadlines on time
