THE ROLE
As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing the financial reporting across all divisions in Canada, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and preparing financial statements on time. You’ll also lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis while overseeing the accounting team. Key responsibilities include financial reporting, managing sales forecasts, accounts receivable, and capital requests. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented leader to drive financial performance and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Burlington.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the financial reporting of the Company including all of its divisions across Canada
- Issuing Financial Statements by GAAP by the deadlines established Financial Analysis, including cost analysis, cost/benefit analysis and continually
- Prepare Annual Financial Budgets for all divisions in Canada (Sales, Capital Expenditure, Cost, etc)
- Work with the Department Managers and your direct report to Prepare Sales Forecasts for all divisions in Canada
- Oversee Accounting department staff including AP, AR, Collections
- Prepare monthly Agent Sales and Commission Reports
- Ensure Accounts Receivable Aging is current
- Ensure KPIs are met or on track and responsible for reporting these
- Periodic Reporting Requirements (Sales Analysis, Non-Productive Labour, Weekly Variance Report, Shop / Install Labour Overage Report)
- Run Weekly Sales Reports (backlog, outstanding quotes, new orders)
- Manage the Capital Request process
- Maintain banking relationships and ensure reporting compliance
- Assessing cost savings opportunities
- Identify weaknesses and inefficiencies

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 7 years in a supervisory or management role
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting processes
- Previous experience in the manufacturing sector is required
- Strong financial analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and budgeting skills
- Proficiency in accounting software (ERP experience is a plus)
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing an accounting team (AP, AR, Collections)
- Ability to analyze financial data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal departments and senior management
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvements and cost savings
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all financial reporting and analysis
