Our recruitment team is currently working with a dynamic Mining company facing incredible growth in Canada. They are seeking a Remote Business Development Specialist with industry experience to join their Sales Department! A typical day is from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This is a remote role with the expectation of some travel for visiting clients for meetings and other events.
The Role
The Business Development Associate is responsible for driving sales, providing support to clients, and actively seeking new business within the Mining sector.
The ideal candidate is a sociable individual with strong oral and written communication skills. They should be a proactive salesperson, and preference will be given to those with experience that is easily transferrable to the Mining Industry.

Responsibilities
- Conduct road shows to meet clients, present our products, and address their needs
- Ensure that sales targets are consistently met
- Promptly address customer requests and ensure maximum client satisfaction
- Develop and maintain a sound and extensive customer base
- Follow-up on sales leads
- Sales forecasting
- Actively promote the professional image and products of the Company
- Identify new business opportunities and partners
- Cultivate strong relationships with new clients, while maintaining existing client relationships
- Develop and implement sales strategies and client retention plans
- Analyze sales data and customer activity to inform business development strategy
- Research and understand the market and changes that impact sales
- Keep up to date with commodity trends
- Maintaining key relationships with Clients, Internal and external business teams, business partners at the senior management level, and Service providers and Suppliers
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree – Major: Chemistry and/or Geology is required
- Knowledge of QAQC procedures will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a technical sales role is required
- Excellent customer care and focus – ability to assess a customer’s needs and provide the correct solutions and/or required support for a positive customer experience
- Intermediate skills in MS Office
- Proactive attitude with business networking skills
- Persuasive and articulate – communicates clearly and reasons logically
- Highly organized with good time management including punctuality
- Conscientious – meets deadlines, pays attention to detail, and ensures high-quality output
