The Role:
At STRIVE, we are partnered with an excellent client and a leader in their industry. They are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join the core management team and oversee the maintenance department in their Delta facility.
The Maintenance Manager will be involved with overseeing all site maintenance including building and production equipment and mentoring the maintenance team. This is a hands-on position!
This will be a Monday-Friday position with a starting time of 7 AM – 4 PM. This person may be required for flexibility for extra work hours during busy periods.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, cross-train, and develop the maintenance team.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of every piece of equipment and machinery used in various production activities.
- Oversee installations, repairs, and upkeep of machines, equipment, mechanical systems, buildings, and other structures.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
- Prepare department budget and monitor expenditure.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations
- Conduct regular inspection/maintenance of machinery to ensure conformance with operational standards.
- Coordinate work performed by outside vendors (contractors).
- Ensure equipment is used to its full capacity.
- Maintain records of service, maintenance, and refurbishing work.
- Implement safety policies and procedures for the department.
- Improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost).
- Plan and direct services such as building maintenance, signage, cleaning, parking, and security.
Must Have’s:
- 8+ years of experience leading a maintenance department in a production/manufacturing facility.
- A degree in engineering, trade certificate, or technical diploma related to maintenance is an asset.
- Hands-on knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical systems, electronics, welding, and machining.
- Refrigeration experience is an asset.
- Excellent leadership and mentorship skills. Experience with growing a team is an asset.
- Ability to manage competing demands and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to act decisively and persist in the face of obstacles.
- Strong communication and skills.
- Effective prioritizing, organizing, and time management skills.
Compensation:
- $120,000-$130,000 annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
