The Role

Our client is looking for a motivated and eager-to-learn Finishing Apprentice to join their team. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who want to build a career in the paint industry. As a Finishing Apprentice, you will receive hands-on training and support from experienced professionals to develop your skills in surface preparation, painting techniques, and equipment handling.

Responsibilities

• Door Handling: Assist in the removal, labelling, transportation, and reinstallation of cabinet doors.
• Site Preparation: Prepare job sites for finishing work, including setting up and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Shop Assistance: Support shop activities such as sanding, staining, and other preparatory tasks as well as the cleanliness and maintenance of the shop and its equipment.
• Finishing Application: Under the direction of the finishing specialist, apply specialty coatings through spray as well as brush-and-roll techniques. In-shop and on-site.
• Learning and Development: Engage actively in learning opportunities to develop skills in finishing techniques and project management.

Skills and Experience

• No prior experience required; hands-on experience in manual labor or construction is a plus.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of tools and materials used in painting is advantageous.
• Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment (up to 50 pounds).
• Comfortable working at heights or on ladders/scaffolding.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
