THE ROLE

We are partnering with a reputable Canadian law firm located in Surrey, BC. Currently, we are looking to add an additional member to their Wills & Estate team as they have a need for a Legal Assistant!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing wills, powers of attorney, trusts, and other estate planning documents
  • Draft and file probate and estate administration documents
  • Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and court offices to gather required information
  • Manage files, maintain client records, and track important deadlines
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and court dates
  • Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with estate laws and regulations
  • Assist with estate accounting and asset distribution documentation
  • Provide general administrative support to lawyers

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in Wills & Estates is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning, probate, and estate administration procedures
  • Proficiency in legal software and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive client matters with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
