THE ROLE
Our Tier 1 automotive manufacturing client is seeking an Engineering Welding Assistant Manager to join their Plant Leadership Team within a world-class manufacturing environment. This is a permanent, full-time leadership opportunity with a well-established automotive manufacturer committed to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and employee development.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you will guide and support the Welding Engineering team while driving plant projects, new program launches, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure engineering projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and support the Welding Engineering team in the execution of plant projects and new program launches
- Oversee the implementation and follow-up of new programs, ensuring quality, productivity, and equipment performance targets are achieved
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to engineering milestones, program launches, and deliverables
- Prepare engineering documentation, reports, charts, and records to support projects and audits
- Develop and support investment cost justifications for new equipment and process improvements
- Support the execution of engineering changes, quality initiatives, productivity improvements, and cost-reduction programs
- Establish and refine engineering methods, standards, and procedures
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment (automotive experience preferred)
- 5+ years of engineering experience is considered an asset
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
- Experience with robotic welding integration, optimization, and continuous improvement is a strong asset
- Demonstrated people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, delegation, and motivating teams
