THE ROLE

As a Welder, you will be responsible for ensuring that equipment operates efficiently and effectively while producing high-quality products in a safe and clean environment. This full-time position is based in Hamilton, ON, with a reputable manufacturing company. If you enjoy working weekends, you'll have the opportunity to work three 12-hour shifts, while being paid for 40 hours!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Weld structural steel using FCAW to create strong, reliable joints.

Operate and maintain welding equipment, such as machines, grinders, and torches

Read and follow blueprints and welding instructions to ensure accurate work.

Safely operate an overhead crane to move materials and equipment.

Follow safety rules and wear PPE at all times.

Choose the right tools and equipment for each job to ensure good results.

Work well with the team to meet production goals and deadlines.

Take care of tools and equipment to keep them in good working condition.

Solve problems and find solutions when welding issues arise.

Help other departments like Assembly, Machining, and Mechanics to keep things running smoothly.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of experience in welding within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in FCAW (Flux Core) and structural welding.
  • Ability to operate various welding tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and best practices in the welding industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Strong welding and fitting abilities.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Certification through the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) is an asset.
