THE ROLE
Our client is a leading Canadian technology accessories company, with annual revenues of $30 million.
They are looking to strengthen their Vendor Relations team, to better service and build stronger relationships with existing vendors.
The Vendor Relations Representative will work closely with the Director of Vendor Relations, being responsible for managing a set of vendors.
Candidates should embody the values of the company including building meaningful relationships internally and externally, taking ownership, trustworthiness, always remaining curious, and caring for their work.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining quality relationships with the vendors
- Acquiring knowledge of the various Brand’s sales strategies and expectations for the Canadian market including road maps, price lists, etc.
- Ensuring products are placed with well-matched customers and Identifying new growth opportunities
- Issuing new product announcements that create excitement
- Sourcing and managing samples, ensuring adequate quantities available for sales
- Assisting with the launch of new products, coordinating initial orders and deadlines
- Securing vendor funding for promotional activities and other campaigns ensuring discounts are documented and approved and the finance team is kept informed
- Organizing sales and vendor meetings and giving product presentations
- Assisting with negotiating new vendor contracts
- Providing product information and sales tools including product presentations
- Negotiating and creating competitive pricing structures ensuring company's margin requirements are met
- Analyzing potential new vendors and researching competitors’ activities
- Preparing reports and pricing analyses that monitor Brand performance and assist in developing sales strategies
- Assisting with the setup of new products in the ERP system and monitoring for accuracy
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent English language skills, written and verbal
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Best suited for outgoing or extroverted personality
- Experience with NetSuite is advantageous
- Understand how to handle pressure and volume
