THE ROLE
Our client is a well-respected and well-known developer in Canada, with completed residential and commercial properties in Vancouver, Toronto and United States. As a fully integrated development firm, they are experts in design, development, construction and property management.
As they have grown, their need for a Senior Property Manager also grows. Someone to lead the existing team and build into the future.
Responsibilities
- Management of a team of property managers across North America, making sure the asset's conditions and operations are held to a high standard
- Maintaining the building by engaging in proactive communication with trades and service contractors, deploying them appropriately and performing regular site inspections
- Ensure timely collection of rent, other receivables and looking after any court or legal proceedings
- Manage planning and execution of capital expenditure projects including budgeting, steering, oversight, dealing with municipal authorities and inspectors, and managing trades and consultants
- Overseeing the eviction processes, move-ins, warning letters to tenants are done appropriately, timely and in accordance to rules and regulations outlined
- Communicating with stakeholders and tenants to develop rapport and understanding
- Promptly replying to any issues that arise and ensure good customer service
- Assist Leasing with new lease, lease renewals, and lease administration
- Preparing monthly status reports on all tenants, vacant spaces and units available for lease - critically assess the variances and plan for next steps
- Supports Investments with cash flow projections, market research, and capital project planning for assets being considered for purchase
- Supports Development activities related to major capital expenditure projects including rezoning, pre-development analysis, and execution
Qualifications
- 5+ years a Property Manager at a recognized developer/property management firm
- Yardi experience is an asset
