THE ROLE

We have partnered with a well-established and reputable Canadian law firm in Vancouver that has been in business for over two decades. With a strong presence in the legal industry, they are looking to expand their legal administration team by adding a Legal Administrative Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a dynamic and challenging role with a collaborative and team-oriented firm. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience working in a Canadian law firm and be energetic, adaptable, and highly motivated to succeed. Responsibilities:

  • Manage file progression, including gathering relevant documentation and overseeing the settlement process.
  • Draft, file, and serve pleadings and application materials.
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies.
  • Prepare for Chambers and Trial, ensuring all necessary materials and documents are organized.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, gathering and managing case-related information.
  • Monitor and track limitation dates, ensuring deadlines are met.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • LAA Diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Strong organizational and document management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct fact investigations, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet research, and Case Management Software.
  • Advanced database management skills.
  • Strong research and legal analysis capabilities.
  • Comfortable working in an unstructured environment, with the ability to adapt and self-direct.
  • Independent thinker with the confidence to make judgment calls and recommendations.
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Professional demeanor, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
