THE ROLE

STRIVE are partnering with a well-established and rapidly growing organization in the facilities services sector to support them with a Senior Accountant. This business provides integrated, end-to-end services across multiple industries including commercial, residential, retail, and hospitality, delivering seamless operational support to its clients. Due to increased workload and ongoing projects, they are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join their finance team on-site at their Burnaby office.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the month-end process, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment requiring someone who can quickly add value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and working papers
  • Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Support AP/AR oversight and ensure accuracy of transactions
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests
  • Identify and implement process improvements where possible
  • Support ad-hoc projects and reporting requirements

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • CPA designation (or near completion) preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong experience with month-end close and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
  • Experience in a multi-entity or service-based environment is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
