THE ROLE

Great opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager at a very reputable manufacturing company in the Burlington area. This role is responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing continuous improvement programs. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and enhance workplace safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Foster a proactive and progressive health and safety culture.
  • Provide guidance on health, safety, and environmental matters to employees and management.
  • Lead investigations for incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute initiatives to mitigate workplace risks and enhance safety programs
  • Deliver health and safety training, including monthly safety sessions and new hire orientation.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, training, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor site performance in alignment with company safety metrics and regulatory requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in Health and Safety or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation (CCOHS, WSIB, OHSA, etc.).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
