The Role 

Our client is a reputable and leading Canadian manufacturer and supplier with multiple locations around the country, in search of a Red Seal Millwright for the Saint Marys location for their 24/7 operating facility.

Offering multiple opportunities for growth and a strong pension plan, our client requires the maintenance team to work on a straight graveyard shift, Thursday to Sunday, 9 pm to 7 am.

The right candidate must hold a Red Seal Millwright certification and have experience in production machinery, preventative maintenance, and repair. Preference is given to those with PLC experience, as the facility is 50% manual and 50% automated. Previous union experience is considered an asset.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Predictive and preventative maintenance on packaging equipment, compressors, power transmitters, conveyor belt systems, hydraulic components, electro-mechanical equipment, and automated machinery as well as PLC programming.
  • Experienced in working with automated and manual machinery. Robotics experience would be a strong asset.
  • Experience in equipment installations and fabrication of parts.
  • Understanding of computing systems to complete any required maintenance reports.
  • Following the safety company and union protocols.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Millwright certification required.
  • Previous union experience would be an asset.
  • Mechanically inclined and strong in equipment diagnosis.
  • Strong understanding and interpretation of blueprints and manuals.
  • Ability to work well in teams as well as independently.
  • A high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
  • Had success working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety standards and protocols.
