THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Associate to join their growing team in Bécancour, QC. This is a junior-level opportunity suited for someone with a post-secondary education in a science or quality-related field who is looking to build hands-on experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will work closely with the Quality Assurance and Production teams to perform quality control checks, verify documentation, inspect products and production processes, and support compliance activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working hands-on in a production environment, and eager to learn.

You’ll be joining a small, close-knit team where you will have the opportunity to work closely with different departments, learn new processes, and take on additional responsibilities as you develop.

This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, generally 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional flexibility required to start earlier or stay later based on business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform quality control inspections on incoming and outgoing products
  • Verify product weights, labels, barcodes, packaging and other quality requirements
  • Conduct routine checks of production areas and processes to ensure procedures are being followed correctly
  • Review production activities such as stamping, labelling and packaging for accuracy and compliance
  • Record and report quality findings, discrepancies and observations accurately
  • Ensure QA documentation is complete, accurate and maintained according to Good Documentation Practices
  • Review, organize and file records related to quality activities
  • Support compliance activities, follow-ups and recommendations
  • Assist with document control and other QA processes
  • Support Health Canada and third-party audits when required
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
  • Assist with quality-related investigations and corrective actions as required
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Participate in the implementation and use of ERP and quality systems
  • Take on additional responsibilities as knowledge and experience develop

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or degree in Food Quality, Pharmaceutical Quality, Biochemistry, Science, Health, or a related field
  • Approximately 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, quality, laboratory, food, pharmaceutical, cannabis or other regulated environment
  • Hands-on experience in a quality or production environment is an asset
  • Previous GPP or GMP experience is an asset but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to follow established procedures and quality standards accurately
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good Microsoft Excel and computer skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team
  • Willingness to learn new systems, processes and responsibilities
  • Health Canada security clearance is a strong asset
  • Ability to work on-site in Bécancour, QC
  • French and English communication skills are an asset given the multilingual work environment
