The Role 

At STRIVE, we are partnered with a client who is currently seeking an eager Production Manager to join the team in their Richmond facility.

The Production Manager will be overseeing a small team and providing hands-on guidance and mentoring to the maintenance staff. This will be a Monday-Friday afternoon position from 1 PM to 9:30 PM. Please note there will be occasional on-call work.

Responsibilities 

  • Oversee all production operations and manage employees up to the Supervisor level.
  • Take a hands-on approach and coordinate across departments as needed.
  • Analyze production data to pinpoint trends and improvement areas.
  • Collaborate with production schedulers to maximize productivity and optimize scheduling.
  • Supervise and develop employees, implementing training to meet job and company standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, HR, and other departments to align with company policies and KPIs.
  • Address product quality issues swiftly and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement among production staff.
  • Identify safety hazards, coach on safety practices, and ensure compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations.
  • Adhere to and enforce Food Safety standards, addressing any deviations immediately.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements   

  • 5+ years in a Production Supervisor/Manager role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent leadership skills and a proven record of leading a team in a similar environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Computer proficient and experience using ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and process improvement. 
  • Flexibility to working extra shifts during busy period.

Compensation 

  • $80,000-$90,000 per year
