The Role
Our client is a legal practice based in Vancouver BC. They are looking for a Part-Time Accounting clerk to assist within their invoicing team. This position will work closely with a team of 5 individuals and will have previous experience in a similar position previously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle account transactions such as wire transfers, electronic funds transfers (EFT), and cheques, including internal, outgoing, and incoming payments.
- Act as a liaison with banking representatives, lawyers, and legal assistants.
- Ensure all necessary forms are signed by authorized personnel and that transactions are processed without holds.
- Provide accurate support for accounts payable, financial tasks, and administrative duties.
- Perform daily financial tasks, including verifying, recording, and categorizing accounts payable information.
- Reconcile credit card statements for the firm and oversee the processing and review of employee expense reports.
- Provide backup support for team members during absences, such as sick leave or vacations.
- Monitor and reconcile rent payments and financial transactions for the firm’s numbered companies.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage high workloads under tight deadlines with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with banking procedures and financial management processes.
