THE ROLE

Our client is looking for a Maintenance Technician to work in a manufacturing plant located in Delta. This is a full-time morning shift (630am to 3:00 pm). You will start as a temporary worker and based on your performance you may be offered a permanent position.

DUTIES:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with PLCs, industrial computers, and variable frequency drives.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and operational results.
  • Uphold facility integrity through repairs to building structures and proper organization of materials.
  • Adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines, including Lockout/Tagout and Confined Space protocols.
  • Utilize and maintain metering and testing equipment for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Operate power and hand tools proficiently, with expertise in various electrical systems including 480V 3PH and low voltage.
  • Provide training and guidance to other maintenance personnel, ensuring tasks are completed with minimal supervision.
  • Manage minor equipment purchases and coordinate with outside contractors for installations and repairs.
  • Participate in plant safety programs and address unsafe working conditions proactively.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years as a Maintenance Technician within a manufacturing company 
  • Ability to do basic welding and fabrication 
  • Ability to wire large industrial machines 
  • PLC experience (diagnose and troubleshoot) 
  • Maintenance experience with hydraulic
  • Maintenance experience with pneumatic
  • A red seal ticket is preferred

COMPENSATION:

  • $35 to 42 per hour
  • Initially, you will be hired as a contractor but once you have proven your skills you will be hired as a permanent employee. 
  • You are hired as a permanent employee after passing the probationary period (4 months), you will receive the following: benefits, 4% RRSP matchings, attendance bonus, safety bonus etc.
