THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a dedicated Junior Accountant for a temporary contract, with the potential for extension. This role focuses heavily on full-cycle accounting activities and some accounts receivable duties. Key responsibilities include performing full-cycle accounting tasks while leveraging intermediate Excel skills, such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables. While experience and education in accounting or finance are preferred, the ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to grow in a dynamic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Receivable (AR) Management
- Process and record customer payments and transactions
- Maintain accurate customer records and ensure timely reconciliation
- Initiate collection efforts via calls and emails, maintaining detailed follow-up notes
- Prepare AR forecasts, and aged receivable analyses, and assist with collections reporting
Financial Reporting
- Assist with preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, forecasts, and operating plans
- Contribute to the preparation of the monthly financial package and support mid-year and year-end reviews
Process Improvement and Standardization
- Review and streamline accounting procedures to increase consistency and efficiency
- Support the Finance team in implementing best practices and maintaining internal controls
Collaboration and Communication
- Work with project managers, internal teams, and customers to resolve collection issues and provide updates
- Participate in AR review meetings and escalate unresolved issues when needed
Support for Analysis and Decision-Making
- Identify trends and provide financial analyses to support operational improvements
- Assist with cost accounting and ensure accurate reporting of project profitability
Audit and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to company policies and internal controls
- Provide documentation for audits and maintain compliance with financial procedures
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction or engineering industry
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and AR processes
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
