THE ROLE

STRIVE is working with a client of ours, a well-established and award-winning Financial Services Firm based in Vancouver. They are currently looking for a Financial and Tax Planner to join their high-performing team. As a Financial and Tax Planner, you will join a goal-driven team, collaborating closely with current clients to gather and analyze data relevant to their financial aspirations. You will utilize advanced software to prepare and assess financial forecasts and provide guidance on financial, tax, retirement, and estate planning objectives. Your responsibilities will include advising Investment Advisors and their clients on a broad range of tax, estate, and personal finance issues and strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct client interviews, both over the phone and in person, to gather necessary information for creating financial forecasts.
  • Develop detailed financial projections tailored to clients' needs.
  • Analyze and discuss these projections with clients and Investment Advisors to ensure clarity and alignment with their goals.
  • Spot opportunities for clients to reduce their tax liabilities and enhance their financial plans.
  • Clarify and explain various rules and concepts to clients and Investment Advisors, including those related to personal and corporate income tax, registered and non-registered accounts, trusts and estates, pensions, and government benefits.
  • Identify risk areas to a client’s plan and articulate possible insurance-based solutions (life and living benefits)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a CFP designation with a CPA designation being nice to have.
  • Adept at working with complex issues such as policy development and their impacts
  • Knowledge of personal finance, taxation, private corporations, trusts, and investment income taxation.
  • Proven ability to build trusting, productive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Must be a strong communicator who is comfortable in a client-facing position.
