THE ROLE

Our client is seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated team player to join their busy Estate Planning team in a part-time role. This position will support both the Wills & Estates teams. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and thrive in a dynamic team environment. A good sense of humor is also key. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to lawyers specializing in probate, estate administration, elder care, and family law.
  • Oversee the entire process from client intake to the preparation of essential legal documents, including letters, affidavits, and disclosure statements for both probate and estate administration applications.
  • Prepare and file probate applications with the court registry, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional client service, ensuring effective communication and fostering strong relationships with clients throughout the process.
  • Manage associated case files, including organizing and updating records, with the support of the administration and accounting teams to maintain smooth operations.
  • Offer backup support to the estate planning team, assisting with vacation coverage and providing assistance during will signings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience (2-3 years) handling probate and estate administration workloads, with a strong understanding of the processes involved.
  • Ability to multitask effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic, able to integrate seamlessly into our collaborative team culture.
  • Enthusiastic about participating in team events, including our Clan Tournaments, and bringing their best to the Wills and Estates team.
