THE ROLE
We have partnered with a manufacturing technology organization based in Vancouver BC, looking for a Director of IT. The Director of IT will be responsible for overseeing IT systems, ERP management, cybersecurity, and global IT operations. This role requires a hands-on leader with the ability to optimize IT processes, improve system efficiency, and align technology with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead and manage the IT team, providing direction, mentorship, and professional development.
- Oversee the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and implement innovative technology solutions.
Infrastructure & Security
- Oversee IT infrastructure, including networking, cloud computing, servers, and security systems.
- Ensure cybersecurity best practices are followed, including data protection, compliance, and risk management.
- Manage IT service providers and vendor relationships to optimize performance and costs.
Systems & Applications Management
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of ERP, CRM, and enterprise applications.
- Evaluate and upgrade business systems to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of IT systems across the organization.
IT Operations & Support
- Manage IT support services, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of technical issues.
- Establish IT policies, procedures, and best practices to standardize technology use across departments.
- Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Project & Change Management
- Lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives and process automation to improve business efficiency.
- Work cross-functionally with departments to optimize technology use.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 11+ years of IT leadership experience, preferably in a mid-sized organization.
- Strong experience in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, networking, and cybersecurity.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, enterprise software, and IT operations management.
- Knowledge of compliance standards
- Proven track record in IT strategy development, budget management, and team leadership.
- Strong project management skills, with experience implementing large-scale IT initiatives.
