STRIVE is collaborating with a prominent global commercial real estate firm to recruit a Controller for their Vancouver office (Hybrid). The successful candidate will manage accounting services for clients within an assigned portfolio. This position includes overseeing budgeting and reporting activities and providing specialized guidance on billing, budgeting, and forecasting to property managers, thereby influencing their business and property management strategies.


  • Direct and manage client accounting functions within a designated portfolio of commercial properties.
  • Provide insightful advice on billing, budgeting, and forecasting to property managers.
  • Monitor and review accounting processes and procedures, suggesting improvements for efficiency and enhanced internal controls.
  • Collaborate with other experts and regional leaders to devise innovative solutions supporting business goals and growth plans.
  • Assist team members and support other functions as needed.
  • Build a highly motivated team through strong leadership, effective communication, and consistent coaching and mentoring
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related subject and a CPA designation.
  • Experience with audits and a robust understanding of accounting standards (ASPE / IFRS).
  • Proficiency in reporting, including MD&A style lease and operations reporting.
  • You have at least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in accounting within the commercial real estate sector.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading and nurturing high-performing teams.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, constantly seeking ways to enhance processes and controls.
  • Strong collaborative skills, eager to work with various subject matter experts and regional leaders.
