THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Plant Cleaner / Sanitation Custodian for our client located in Brantford. This is a short-term, full-time opportunity for approximately 1 month, working straight day shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary plant environment by completing scheduled cleaning tasks across all common areas of the facility, ensuring all sanitation standards and checklists are followed daily.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean and sanitize all common areas, including washrooms, cafeterias, locker rooms, offices, and entrances
  • Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility using approved cleaning solutions
  • Empty garbage and recycling bins inside and outside the plant
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, and high-touch areas
  • Refill washroom supplies such as soap, paper towel, and toilet paper
  • Collect and dispose of dirty rags and waste materials safely
  • Maintain cleanliness of walkways, smoking areas, and first aid room
  • Follow detailed daily cleaning checklists to ensure compliance standards are met
  • Perform cleaning duties in employee and supervisor areas as required
  • Follow all plant safety rules and PPE requirements at all times
  • Complete additional cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisors

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous cleaning, janitorial, or industrial sanitation experience preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing/plant environment
  • Physically able to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily checklists accurately
  • Must follow PPE requirements at all times
  • Understanding of safe chemical handling
