As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an Accounting Manager to join their finance team and play a key role in overseeing the accounting function across multiple entities.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting function while taking ownership of the month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll accounting, reconciliations, and process improvement.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant/ Accounting Manager who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with senior leadership, and having a direct impact on improving processes and financial reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the full-cycle accounting function and month-end close process.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable team and payroll accounting.
- Maintain fixed assets, sub-ledgers, depreciation schedules, and inventory costing.
- Manage lease accounting and cost recovery.
- Liaise with external auditors and support annual audit/review engagements.
- Review and improve accounting processes, controls, and procedures.
- Support accounting for multiple entities, including property holding companies.
- Partner with the Controller and Financial Analyst on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Prepare journal entries and ensure appropriate supporting documentation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Assist with tax filings, government surveys, banking requirements, and other financial initiatives.
- Participate in projects focused on improving reporting accuracy and efficiency.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- CPA designation or equivalent.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Manufacturing experience is considered a strong asset.
- Strong full-cycle accounting and month-end close experience.
- Experience working with an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics; Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- A hands-on, proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of projects and process improvements.
COMPENSATION
- BASE: $90,000 – $95,000 annual salary
- BONUS: Discretionary annual incentive plan
- BENEFITS: Extended health and dental benefits
