THE ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment is partnered with a long-established, privately operated organization within a fast-paced, essential services environment in Vancouver. With a strong reputation for operational excellence and a collaborative team culture, this organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support their accounting function on a contract basis. As an Accounting Clerk, you will provide key administrative and clerical support across Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and general accounting operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on transactional accounting experience who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Billing Support

  • Processing internal and third-party billing
  • Working with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies

Accounts Receivable

  • Applying cash receipts (sales and non-sales)
  • Managing intercompany and advance payments
  • Processing early payment discounts
  • Matching credit card receipts to invoices
  • Preparing and posting AR adjustments
  • Responding to customer inquiries via email and phone

Accounts Payable

  • Processing and coding vendor invoices
  • Updating purchase orders
  • Assisting with payment runs

Administrative Support

  • Filing, photocopying, document collation
  • Organizing and managing high volumes of paperwork

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 2–3 years of hands-on accounting or clerical accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting processes (AR, AP, billing)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate Excel and MS Word skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (Lawson considered an asset)
  • Post-secondary coursework or diploma in Accounting, Business, or Commerce preferred
