The STRIVE Story
STRIVE was started through humble beginnings in a 150-square-foot office during the height of the global recession in October of 2008, by its Managing Director, Michael Dha. While the early years were tough, they taught some very valuable lessons in cautious growth and market volatility. The flagship division of the organization began with Accounting & Finance, however, it was understood early on that the company needed to pivot quickly into an area that would provide more stability during the first two years. It was then that STRIVE’s Manufacturing & Operations division was born and has flourished ever since. Soon after, STRIVE became a key player in the Legal Support and Human Resources verticals through the Corporate Administration division.
Coming from a global conglomerate and one of the largest staffing agencies in the world, Randstad, Michael knew that his company needed two critical pillars to build a successful recruitment firm: culture and expertise. The former is paramount. STRIVE lives by Richard Branson’s credo: “The client doesn’t come first, your employees do. Take care of them and they’ll take care of your clients.” STRIVE has practiced this for nearly two decades. Charitable Impact
STRIVE is dedicated to giving back to our community by supporting various charities and organizations. We believe that building a strong community is an essential part of any successful business, and we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those around us.
We are heavily involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Managing Director of STRIVE Recruitment, Michael Dha, sits on the board of the Make-A-Wish Foundation Canada.
STRIVE supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation through its annual charity events. The Make-A-Wish foundation hosts a Heroes Challenge, which is a fundraising event that brings together participants from across Canada to raise money. We are regular participants in this event and have proudly raised over $80,000 for the foundation over the last 7 years, granting several wishes for the Make-A-Wish children.
The funds raised by STRIVE and other supporters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation go directly towards granting the wishes of children with critical illnesses. This often includes anything from going on a dream vacation to receiving a special gift or participating in an unforgettable experience. These wishes not only provide joy and happiness to the children and their families but also help to give them hope and strength during their difficult times.
