THE ROLE

STRIVE has partnered with a well-established and rapidly growing Vancouver based organization within the marine and industrial services sector as they look to hire a Senior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant looking to join a highly dynamic, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced organization that operates with the agility of a startup while managing complex multi-entity operations. The business is currently experiencing significant growth and transformation, including ongoing systems and process improvements.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in strengthening the accounting function, improving month-end processes, enhancing documentation standards, and supporting operational scalability across the business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building processes, thrives in environments where priorities shift quickly, and takes pride in producing accurate, well-supported financial information.

The environment is highly collaborative and hands-on. This role will suit someone who is adaptable, analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a founder-led business where no two days look the same.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead full-cycle month-end close activities across multiple entities
  • Prepare and review reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting working papers
  • Perform variance analysis and investigate financial discrepancies
  • Support intercompany reconciliations and month-end adjustments
  • Assist with consolidations and multi-entity reporting
  • Ensure financial information is accurate, tied out, and properly documented
  • Improve accounting discipline, documentation standards, and internal processes
  • Maintain organized and cross-referenced working papers
  • Review financial data and identify inconsistencies or errors proactively
  • Support AP, treasury, and operational accounting functions as needed
  • Assist with credit card reconciliations, cash management, and reporting accuracy
  • Support implementation and enhancement of accounting controls and best practices
  • Assist with ERP implementation and process optimization initiatives such as the transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting, and workflow automation
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and reporting requests as the business evolves
  • Work closely with finance leadership and operational stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within a fast-changing operational environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA preferred
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong month-end accounting and reconciliation experience
  • Experience within multi-entity environments considered an asset
  • Strong Excel skills and ERP system experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks and/or NetSuite considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and working paper documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and ad-hoc requests

IDEAL PROFILE

The ideal candidate will come from a disciplined accounting environment and possess strong accounting fundamentals, particularly around reconciliations, documentation, and financial review processes.
