THE ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment is proud to partner with a growing Alberta-based data technology firm specializing in data integrity and asset traceability solutions for North America's energy infrastructure sector to recruit for a Data Analyst based in Calgary, AB. The client is seeking a curious and driven Data Analyst to join a cross-functional team of analysts, developers, and operations experts. This role is focused on research, data analysis, and insight generation to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency across the business. The successful candidate will work directly with data sources, pipelines, and reporting tools to deliver high-quality, actionable insights for both internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth data research and analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Develop business intelligence reports, dashboards, and presentations
  • Create and track metrics and key performance indicators
  • Support strategic planning initiatives with data-driven insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members, including analysts, developers, and product owners
  • Research and develop new analytical approaches and models as needed

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Math, Science, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of advanced Microsoft Excel utilization with a strong analytical mindset
  • Experience working with Oil & Gas data (midstream, pipeline preferred)
  • Strong communication skills — able to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Collaborative, team-first approach with a willingness to both teach and learn

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with data pipelines, ETL tools, or business intelligence platforms
  • Familiarity with data quality, traceability, or asset management concepts
  • Exposure to agile project environments or cross-functional team structures
  • Experience in presenting findings and recommendations to internal or external stakeholders
  • Power BI
