The Role

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for supporting the delivery of HR services, policies, and programs with the goal of fostering an employee-oriented, quality-focused, and high-performance culture at the manufacturing facility in Brantford, Ontario.

This role plays a key part in supporting day-to-day HR operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring strong employee engagement, compliance, and effective HR administration across the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and people initiatives
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Support full-cycle recruitment activities including resume screening, background checks, and onboarding preparation
  • Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires
  • Support compensation, benefits administration, and organizational structure updates (job descriptions, charts, etc.)
  • Assist with employee relations, communications, and engagement initiatives
  • Support performance management processes
  • Maintain HR databases and prepare regular reports for corporate HR and leadership
  • Participate in employee and management meetings as required
  • Coordinate annual Code of Conduct training completion for all employees
  • Oversee employee service awards and recognition programs
  • Ensure HR compliance with provincial legislation and internal policies through audits, recordkeeping, and investigations
  • Maintain accurate HR files (current and historical)
  • Liaise with external HR providers including benefits vendors and legal counsel
  • Support disciplinary documentation and processes alongside HR leadership and supervisors
  • Act as secretary for the Employee Committee, including meeting coordination and minutes
  • Assist with employee events (BBQs, retirements, celebrations, etc.) and Social Committee activities
  • Support training and development coordination and scheduling
  • Assist with employee engagement survey distribution and tracking
  • Support weekly payroll audits and attendance reporting
  • Coordinate training sessions for plant employees, including on-floor training with the safety team
  • Manage HR and safety document filing and digital organization
  • Support plant compliance audits and safety recognition initiatives

Requirements

  • HR experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment is a must
  • Experience implementing HR programs and initiatives in a plant setting is preferred
  • Exposure to change management in a manufacturing or operational environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with Visio is preferred
  • Experience working with ADP and time and attendance systems is preferred
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude
