The Role
Our client is a reputable and leading supplier with multiple locations across Canada in search of an Inventory Planner for the Vancouver location.
Offering multiple opportunities for growth, the Inventory Planner is in charge of analyzing sales trends, predicting inventory levels, and ensuring products are in stock in the specified locations. This role plays a key part in ensuring products are distributed efficiently across all channels to support sales performance and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Execute weekly distribution of core and seasonal products across physical locations and online channels based on sales trends, inventory levels, and space constraints.
- Review location-level performance and stock positions to maintain healthy in-stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and avoid missed sales.
- Flag variances, risks, and opportunities within current-season demand and collaborate with planning partners to support inventory reforecasting.
- Coordinate the allocation strategy for new product introductions and seasonal programs in alignment with Planning and Merchandising teams.
- Maintain accuracy of allocation data, timelines, and documentation.
- Recommend improvements to streamline allocation workflows and enhance accuracy and scalability.
- Conduct end-of-season inventory assessments and propose actions such as location transfers or markdown strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Analytics, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in stock placement, inventory planning, and management, or comparable analytical roles.
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and data queries. Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
- Familiarity with location planning and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong analytical abilities paired with sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communicator with solid problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting retail operations.
Compensation
- $60,000 to $70,000
