The Role
Our client focuses on the distribution of construction products across Canada and the United States. In the search for a Shipper/Receiver for the branch in Coquitlam for a 6-month temporary contract. The shift times for this position are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday, with the opportunity for overtime.
Responsibilities
- Receives and stocks products in the warehouse
- Picks customer orders from inventory stock and completes to meet productivity and accuracy standards
- Loads and unloads orders/shipments
- Pick-up and delivery of goods for the company
- Completes all paperwork and documentation required
- Ensures yard and warehouse is clean and organized
- Complies with health and safety measures
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2+ years’ of related experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time
- Comfortable working indoors as well as outdoors in the yard
- Forklift experience (certification is a strong asset)
- A high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
- Had success working in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills, communication skills and attention to detail
- Understanding and use of computing systems
- Previous experience performing inventory counts
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- A strong commitment to health and safety as well as customer service
- Having reliable transportation is an asset
