THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Coordinator for a temporary 12+ month maternity leave coverage in Hamilton, ON. The role focuses on processing invoices, preparing payments, and managing vendor accounts to ensure smooth financial operations.

Key responsibilities include matching invoices, resolving discrepancies, processing expense reports, and supporting month-end accruals.

The ideal candidate brings accounts payable experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Match invoices to packing slips, code and enter invoices, and resolve discrepancies
  • Work with vendors and Purchasing to address pricing or quantity issues
  • Handle employee expense reports and reconcile credit card statements
  • Prepare and process cheque runs and electronic payments
  • Maintain vendor information and follow up on missing or updated details
  • Respond to vendor inquiries, provide documentation for audits, and assist internal requests
  • Create accrual spreadsheets

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a related role
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and audit procedures is an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
