The Role  

STRIVE is working with a leading industrial company with sites across Western Canada. They are currently in search of a temporary 1-2-week (could be extended longer) Administrative Assistant for their Delta facility. This position is a Monday to Friday with shift hours 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

The Administrative Assistant's primary focus will be on general reception duties including being the first point of contact for customers, faxing, filing, formatting, and editing documents, and liaising between departments. This position directly reports to the Controller.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage office supplies and resolve issues with admin and suppliers.
  • Welcome visitors, direct calls, and relay messages promptly.
  • Handle routine and ad hoc word processing tasks using MS Office suite.
  • Coordinate monthly company newsletter, collaborating with departments for content and using MS Publisher for editing and formatting.
  • Generate quotes for Sales Representatives in various departments.
  • Check and respond to voicemail daily.
  • Handle incoming mail and courier bags, including sorting and distribution.
  • Manage postage meter and outgoing mail processing.
  • Prepare waybills and manage inventory of courier packages.
  • Monitor and order office supplies and coffee for all locations.
  • Process invoices, match them with relevant documents, and code, and forward for approval.
  • Maintain bulletin boards and company correspondence.
  • Keep phone lists and contact information updated.
  • Distribute all incoming vendor invoices to the correct departments, using Navision to track the correct department to forward bills to sort and mail out all customer invoices daily
  • Assist the Accounts Payable Department as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements   

  • 2+ years of experience as an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist
  • Reliable transportation is required for this position
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite including, Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Attention to detail, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and able to meet deadlines promptly
  • Reliable transportation is required for this position

Compensation 

  • $20-$22 per hour depending on experience
