THE ROLE
As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for processing weekly payroll for a large number of employees, both in union and non-union environments. You will handle full-cycle payroll processing, including T4 and ROE, and ensure payroll accuracy through diligent auditing. Your role will also involve managing payroll information, assisting with time entry issues, and processing various remittances.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage high-volume payroll processing for both union and non-union employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Provide support for payroll processing and serve as a backup when necessary
- Handle end-to-end payroll functions, including T4 slips and Records of Employment (ROE)
- Regularly audit payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations
- Dedicate to weekly payroll provision and reporting utilizing the Payworks system
- Maintain accurate records for collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data
- Work with various work sites to ensure accurate and timely entry into the Time Entry module and resolve any time entry issues. Assist with Time Entry as needed
- Process payroll changes and adjustments, ensuring all inputs are authorized and deadlines are strictly adhered to
- Safeguard payroll operations and confidential employee information
- Keep payroll records updated, including attendance, vacation, leave of absence, and overtime calculations
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and provide necessary information
- Assist with internal and external payroll audits, providing required documentation and support
- Resolve payroll discrepancies through thorough information collection and analysis
- Process various remittances, including WCB and union contributions
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years of payroll processing experience
- Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably in high-volume environments with both union and non-union employees
- Strong proficiency with payroll systems (Payworks, ADP, Dayforce, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing payroll data and records
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong communication skills for answering inquiries and collaborating with different teams
- Relevant degree or certification in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
