THE ROLE
STRIVE has partnered with an esteemed client in the steel industry. This is a great opportunity to work with a renowned company, a TOP EMPLOYER, and expand your current experience. We are looking for a Human Resources Coordinator who is adaptable and focused for their Delta location.
They are a fast-paced, growing company in the steel industry, and they operate multiple locations across Canada and the U.S. You will be primarily responsible for administrative human resource duties for 10 branches and growing, although no travel will be required. This is a permanent, full-time role with a competitive compensation package.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Participate in full-cycle recruitment efforts.
• Working closely with the hiring manager to create job descriptions, across Canada.
• Screen candidates, conduct interviews, call references, prepare offers and negotiate contract
• Help employees navigate their extended health and benefits, oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation
• Onboarding new employees, assist in performance management, role development, and employee exits
• Assist with issue resolution, employee conflict, and requests for policy changes
• Be one of the points of contacts for HR company policies, guidelines, and procedures as well as all British Columbia and Provincial ( Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec) employment standard laws and regulations
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of provincial and federal employment law and compliance regulations
• Compile reports and spreadsheets and preparing spreadsheets (KPI Turnover)
• Admin/data entry as required
• Maintain records related to performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
• Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
• Complete termination paperwork and assist with exit interviews
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience.
• Knowledge of ADP would be an asset
• Knowledge of all functional HR areas including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee development.
• Strong HR administration skills with a demonstrated ability to coordinate numerous activities within a deadline-orientated environment.
• Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Solid analytical, critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
