THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Welding Supervisor to lead the welding department at a reputable medium-sized manufacturing plant in Brantford, ON. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will organize, coordinate, and supervise employees and activities within the welding department to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assign work to department personnel and monitor production schedules
  • Supervise a team of production MIG welders to meet quality, safety, and production standards
  • Establish, monitor, and improve procedures to increase manufacturing efficiency
  • Ensure production of conforming welded components and compliance with quality standards
  • Train, coach, and provide guidance to employees to develop skills, work habits, and safety practices
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback for growth
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration with other departments
  • Read and interpret drawings, dimensions, weld symbols, and welding processes according to CWB standards
  • Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, and company policies
  • Operate welders, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (welding supervisor experience is an asset)
  • Valid CWB Welding Supervisor certificate and welding tickets
  • Proficient in MIG welding and measuring parts to blueprint specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, dimensions, and weld symbols
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, MRP systems, and Lean/TPS methodologies is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to supervise diverse teams, exercise sound judgment, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for prolonged periods
  • Professional, adaptable, and committed to contributing to a growing team
