Our recruitment team is currently working with an integrated, multi-trade service provider facing growth in Canada. They are seeking an Accounting Manager with a CPA Designation to join their Finance team! A typical day is from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This is an on-site position located in Stoney Creek.
The Role
The Accounting Manager, based in Stoney Creek, will play a key role in supporting the Regional Controller with the execution of the accounting and financial plan, ensuring alignment with Corporate Policy. This position will be responsible for overseeing financial operations in the Southwest Ontario (SWO) Region, including joint ventures and National Service functions. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure smooth financial processes and reporting.

Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger entries, month-end/year-end activities, and account reconciliations.
- Review and ensure accuracy of invoices, expense reports, and payroll.
- Prepare financial reports for operations and weekly Service Division reports, including safety and training stats.
- Assist with budget updates, tax remittances, and audit preparations.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis and oversee expense monitoring and cost control.
- Support fleet management, accounts receivable, and banking activities.
- Collaborate with administrators to ensure accurate work and purchase order processing.
- Process salary payroll, including T4/T2200 distributions.
- Mentor and support administrators, assisting with ad hoc requests.
- Prepare month-end accounting procedures and draft financial statements for Regional Controller review.
- Oversee all financial aspects of Joint Ventures, including billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of experience in a full-cycle accounting role
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting processes
- CPA designation is highly desirable
- Proficient in ERP systems; experience with JD Edwards is a plus
- Capable of leading or managing a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
