THE ROLE

We have partnered with a well-established and reputable Canadian law firm in Vancouver. With a strong presence in the legal industry, they are looking to expand their legal administration team by adding a Legal Administrative Assistant.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide coverage for employee absences and support during busy periods.
  • Oversee file management from initiation to closure, including organizing and filing all correspondence.
  • Manage the inbox efficiently, tracking and filing email correspondence.
  • Maintain the lawyer’s calendar and a reliable bring forward (BF) system, independently scheduling dates related to client files and practice management.
  • Prepare and draft various legal documents, including pleadings and correspondence.
  • Compile monthly accounts and expense reports.
  • Coordinate the lawyer’s administrative tasks and marketing activities.
  • Consult with internal and external legal professionals and clients about file progress.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with recent experience in commercial litigation.
  • Graduate of an accredited Legal Assistant program, or equivalent experience in lieu of formal education.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legal procedures.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and BC Online. Experience with Acumin and Worldox is a plus.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with a strong command of spelling, grammar, and composition.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Capable of exercising sound professional judgment, discretion, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to balance a heavy workload and manage routine tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
