Our client is a boutique Credit-focused Investment Management firm based in Vancouver. Founded over 14 years ago, our client invests in North American credit markets employing a deep value research-driven approach to investing in corporate securities. They are dedicated to generating consistent absolute returns for clients with the primary focus being preservation of capital. The fund has achieved positive returns YOY.

 

Job Description

 

They are currently looking to expand their team by adding a Fund Administration Associate. They will consider candidates that have a proven track record of exceptional performance in a similar role. Candidates will be given opportunities and are highly encouraged to explore a wider set of responsibilities and take on new challenges.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for many of the firm’s fund administrative and operational duties in portfolio management, and compliance. This is an opportunity to grow with the investment team, so the successful candidate will be expected to show a willingness and ability to learn and take on greater assignments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate trade settlements, track corporate action notices for portfolio investments, maintain information spreadsheets, and manage document flow and data records;
  • Maintain general ledger, recording and reconciling investment activity, and performing cash reconciliations
  • Work on portfolio risk and performance attribution analysis for investment management and client communication;
  • Undertake projects in compliance, office administration and business development;

 

Skills and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Computer Science
  • CPA Recommended, CFA is advantageous
  • Possessing strong programming languages, such as Python, is highly advantageous
  • High attention to detail and proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communications skills;
  • Mature and can take responsibility
  • Works well independently and in a fluid entrepreneurial environment;
  • Experience in the investment business required and ideally in fund administration
