THE ROLE

The client is seeking an exceptional individual to become a critical member of their Financial Planning and Analysis team as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization's growth and success as they continue to advance their technologies and treatments.

 

In this position, you will serve as the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and be a key business partner to G&A, leading and managing annual operating budgets and forecasts, month-end close, and management reporting activities. Additionally, you will provide essential support for business development transactions and collaborations, as well as offering ad-hoc operational and strategic decision-making assistance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The individual is responsible for leading, consolidating, analyzing and submitting the forecast and budget (expenses & headcount) organization wide.
  • Providing financial analysis and support for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
  • As well as preparing financial narratives, headcount reporting, provide drivers, data for financial presentations to senior management and analyzing business risks / opportunities
  • The individual will be responsible for completing monthly accounting and reconciliations organization wide.
  • Additionally, they will need to construct variance analysis between budget/forecast and actuals.
  • Share responsibility in executing accounting and business procedures, ensure integrity of process Support Monthly and Quarterly reporting to our Executive Committee.
  • Work with the Corporate Finance team to ensure timely and systematic processes are executed during close to ensure timely management report delivery.
  • Lead Financial support and analysis for Quarterly Business reviews
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the finance organization to streamline processes and improve communication and flow of information to the business
  • Partner with Accounting, Financial Systems, and IT to ensure consistent reporting views for senior management and the Finance organization (FP&A, Accounting)
  • Partner with owner of master data governance to facilitate management reporting through consistency, standardization, and automation/efficiencies
  • Proactively identify reporting needs for upcoming corporate exercise (forecast, LRP, budget) by partnering across functions (FP&A, Accounting)
  • Drive ongoing corporate reporting efficiencies and improvements by streamlining existing and future processes

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required – Post bachelor’s education is a plus (CPA, CFA, MBA)
  • Industry related experience (Medical, Healthcare, Tech, Biotech)
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Advanced Excel and ERP/ accounting systems
  • 10+ years of FP&A plus 5+ years of people management experience
  • Proven track record of strategic business partnering and influencing across the organization
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to balance multiple priorities in a very fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
